1984 Redux
In 1949, writer George Orwell published his classical work “1984"; a sci-fi novel that prophesized a dark future in a land called “Oceania which was a form of Socialist Oligarchy. The inhabitants lived in a police state and the term “Big Brother” was coined based on the stringent nanny style governance by an individual named “Big Brother.” The collectivist society meant that there was a complete absence of all property rights and individualism. In 1984 everything that made humans human, was stripped from the individual leaving the inhabitants of Oceania broken and dumbed down by an oppressive government that rewrote and often erased history by the day to keep the people in the dark. 1984 All over again with the soon to be released book “1984 Redux”. Andrew Curtiss has produced a political commentary that directly compares the current trends in American politics and legislature to that of a developing Oceania in Orwell’s “1984”.

Just where exactly is America headed? Are we on the railroad towards a fascist, totalitarian style government or perhaps an oligarchy? Will the economy collapse again, and if so what does that mean for America and our way of life? Are these the questions that you are asking yourself? If not you should be. The United States is now a contradictory term used for America these days. The truth is maybe the states aren’t as united as we might like to think. Perhaps all of the division among social, political and ethnic lines was by design. In 1949 a writer by the name of George Orwell published the classic “1984”, a novel that prophesized a dark future for the world; under the control of a socialist global oligarchy. The term “Big Brother” was coined. Although Orwell’s original intent was not to predict what the future would hold, but to provide a warning of what it could bring; we find that many ideas that he brought to life in the book have also come to life in our world today. 1984 has come and passed and thankfully we did not experience a complete “Big Brother” society but it was well on its way even in 1984. If we fast forward to today we find ourselves in America much like those people of Oceana.
Since the 1970’s the United States has been in a state of perpetual war. The wars on drugs, crime and terror have taken their tolls on America. The media has become a mouth piece for political bias (See the report on the liberal media bias study) and the gap between the haves and have not’s has grown wider; while simultaneously compressing the size of the middle class. The American middle class is becoming only an ideal that is quite often used as a term to further political agendas. Technology has advanced leaps and bounds since the beginning of the 20th century and has brought us to a world where we are being watched on every street corner, business and ATM by the camera eye searching high and low. Every message sent by phone or E-mail may be listened to or read and even the privacy of the postal service no longer exists. Religion is being replaced by science and the once established “God Given Rights” by our nation’s founders have been declared archaic by progressive thinking individuals. The idea of liberty and equality among men, as a state of being under a divine entity has also changed to social equality under an “omnipotent” governing body. The term “Politically Correct” has divided America further than it has ever been since the American Civil war; and as if almost by design seems to be tearing the cultural fabric out of America. Perception has become reality. The government has created a false sense of fear amongst the people in order to give the powers that be, leeway to further their ultimate political agenda. The government tells you there is a war on drugs and we sacrifice some of our birth rights in order to secure our nation’s safety. Then they tell us that there is a war on crime and because we are “good citizens” we slide a little further to the left giving up our rights as guaranteed by the Constitution. Then comes the war on terror and because this is most threatening we begin to endure the most draconian of security measures in order to “secure our nation”. Meanwhile, there are huge backdoor power plays being made in order to secure the global fiscal and natural resources. The media projects messages and images to the masses, and act as sheep dogs; herding us all in flocks to which ever corral the government desires. They create our perception of what is cool, hip, modern, vogue, fun, what is acceptable and what is not. They are the “avant-garde” in creating our perception of reality.
History is written by the victor, or so it has been said. As part of dumbing down society and creating a false sense of reality the progressive thinkers inhabit the education system twisting the lessons of history to paint the picture that they see most fit; in order to further their political agenda. They perpetually “educate” and misinform “the next generation” in order create the next generation of sheep to herd. Many of America’s children today know little of the Constitution in which their freedoms were secured oh so many years ago. (See the PDF version of the book the deliberate dumbing down of America "A chronological paper trail") We even find today that many publishers are putting disclosure statements on the copied prints of the Constitution stating that the opinions expressed within it are outdated. Slowly but “Progressively” America’s ideals have been dismantled and the powers that be are pushing our nation’s ideals and values to the point of irrelevancy. Once we lose our cultural ideals and values we will no longer have an identity. The government establishment and media have been driving us towards collectivism for decades now. It becomes quite visible when you look at America’s teenagers today. Teenage years were once a time of rebellion and individualism; however through media manipulation and government approval, the teenage years are a breeding ground for collectivism and rebellion against the familial structure. Just watch the teens of today; all of them with the same exact hair and clothing styles according to the click in which they best fit. The caste system is being recreated in today’s teens. They are being taught that the old values are archaic and that the environment is the new world religion.Because we are being ruled by fear, fear of crime, drugs, terror, Mutually Assured Destruction and an apocalyptic ending from an ever decaying world that we have destroyed by overpopulating and carelessness; we are herded like flocks of sheep. “We The Sheeple” have given our trust away and today there is no trust. We have gutted our own culture and humanity and because of Environmentalism the world’s new religion; we have become a self loathing species. Fear and self loathing is exactly what the government needs you to feel in order to decimate your individuality and personal identity. Much like in Orwell’s 1984 we are becoming Oceana.
In 2009 I received a forwarded E-Mail from a friend whom I served within the US Army Special Forces. Generally speaking there are few forwarded E-Mails that are worth reading since so many of them are devoid of research or facts. The E-Mail in particular had a subject that was something like “Congratulations, you made the terrorist watch list” or something of the sort. It caught my attention so I read it and immediately disregarded the idea of what was expressed in the electronic message. As usual I decided to research the net to see if there was any news articles related to what was said in the E-Mail. The E-Mail sent to me described a report that had been published by the Department of Homeland Security that identified “Combat Veterans” as potential domestic terrorists. It essentially stated that we were on the watch list because we were a danger to our nation’s security. Initially, I thought the E-Mail a hoax initiated by opponents of the Obama regime who sought to undermine it with disinformation.In my research I found that indeed the report did exist and that what was written in the report was far worse than the E-Mail described. April 7, 2009 the DHS published a secret report that was to go directly to the offices of different law enforcement and fusion agencies in America. (Download it here as a PDF) This list clearly and in detail highlighted the “New enemies of the state”. Amongst the list of those to be profiled were Combat Veterans, especially those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and high levels of training, Christians, Pro second amendment advocates, anti abortion advocates, anyone who did not practice left wing politics, white supremacists and CONSTITUTIONALISTS! I read article after article written about the public backlash against the report and I even read the government sponsored media’s best effort in what Orwell coined as “doublethink” to counter the backlash and get the public to accept the idea that the “New enemy of the state” was them. The media posted articles with titles such as “DHS apologizes for the report on home grown terror” and the likes. Not one of the articles that mentioned, the DHS apologized contained an apology. Janet Napolitano head of the DHS only stated that the report was not meant to be revealed to the public and nothing more.
During my research on that one topic I stumbled down rabbit hole, after rabbit hole and for once in my life I became aware that the reality I was living was completely false. I became angered, frustrated and felt betrayed by my government once more. Not that it was the first time I was ever disappointed or betrayed by my government; (remember I spent over 11 years as a soldier and was in the Special Forces) government lies and betrayal had become a common theme for me. This time I was angered not because the government was deceiving me or a group of soldiers that work for the government, but the people for whom the government is supposed to serve. Not only was the government deceiving it’s master (The people), the language in the report and the overall attitude of the government in all the discoveries I was making was treacherous. I began to realize that much like as in a game of chess; our government, over time had been slowly closing in on the people of America in order to put them in a position of “check mate”. When I realized the scale of destruction and tyranny in which we are headed I knew that I could no longer stand neutral. Because I have seen war and tyranny all over the world I also knew that violent rebuttal should be only a last stitch effort. It’s not too late for the people to wake up and reassert control over the system designed to serve the people. I realized that perhaps the best way to aid in the resistance against an ever advancing and ultimate global anarchy was to become an activist. I decided to publish a book which would address many of the threats to our freedom and way of life as we know it in order to be a voice of dissent amongst the clatter of the herding of the sheeple into government controlled stables. After over 9 months of research and writing I finally realized that the title must pay homage to the man that coined the terms of “Big Brother” and “Doublethink”, George Orwell.
I titled my latest work “1984 Redux: Say hello to Big Brother”. What you will find in this book is the product of the research that I did between July, 2009 and March, 2010. It was a difficult work to produce since Barrack Obama and his Obamamites were steadfastly pushing oppressive legislation down the throats of America at a blinding pace. I chose to begin this book with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights; not only to be used as a reference, but to be used as a moral and ideological compass for those who truly believe in freedom as our nation’s founders intended. The book then addresses the heroes of our nation’s most historical president, so that one might see the vision of where we may be headed more clearly. Then you will learn more about the radical ties behind this “historical president” in the following chapter. From that point on you will be made aware of the following:
